Oldham away league cup quarter final, 6 fucking nil on their shit plastic pitch. Rained stairrods throughout the game. Fucking shit open terrace. Bad day!

Around 1990 Brighton away at the old Goldstone ground
Stood on an uncovered terrace and I think they still had the old high fences up.
Pissed down all game,we got kept in at the end and lost 4.0 I think.
Just to make matters worse we couldn't get a beer anywhere and the car got broken into.

Got snowed on at Gillingham away. Midweek game in February and stand had no roof. It was snowing so hard you couldn't see the other end of the pitch clearly

Southampton away a few years ago. I was about 12 rows from the front and the roof was so rubbish it was like standing outside in the downpour

This was the only West Ham home game that I ever got locked out of. Although it poured with rain all afternoon, it was an absolute sell-out. I reached the ground with about an hour to go but they had already shut the gates. When I eventually got home, I heard on the TV that I had missed a classic match. (For you yongsters, these were the days when the majority of spectators could not book ahead).

Watford away in the Championship in November 2003.
Terrible 0-0 game and the heavens opened just before kick off with flash flooding all around Vicarage Road as I was walking to the ground. Had a jacket but it didn’t have a hood and I got absolutely soaked through.
Can remember going to a home game against Birmingham when Zola was our manager, Diamanti scored the great free kick for the winner past Joe Hart - that night it was sleet so even with a winter coat and beanie hat was soaked getting the tube back to my brothers place in Tooting afterwards.

There was a game at Craven Cottage a few years back, possibly on a New Years Day?
I walked from Hammersmith and it pissed down heavily all the way.
I think I was in the second row of the Putney Stand where there was no roof at all so continued to get pissed on all game.
Game was crap as I recall (Nolan sent off?).
Left CC and walked back to Hammersmith, still pissing down hard continuously.
One of those games/days when I really wished I hadn't bothered.

3-0 down inside 15 minutes. Liam Brady missed a penalty. Seem to recall it pissed down on an open terrace

I was at that Chelsea game oldtimer mentioned. I was wearing a pacamac! Wettest though, as someone else said, was at Hillsborough for the 1964 Cup semi final. My dad bought towels on the way back to the car so we could dry off a bit. The pictures of the players coming off the pitch at the end are something you wouldn't see now.
